Flight tracking
Enter a flight number to find the aircraft on the live map, or an air waybill number to check it and jump to the carrier's own tracking page.
How it works
Check the air waybill, then watch the flight.
An air waybill number is eleven digits: a three-digit airline prefix and an eight-digit serial whose last digit is a check digit. The checker validates it, names the carrier from the prefix and links to that airline’s tracking; the map then locates a cargo flight by its flight number on the live ADS-B feed.
How is the AWB check digit worked out?
Take the first seven digits of the serial and divide by 7; the remainder is the eighth digit. Serial 1234567 divided by 7 leaves a remainder of 5, so 020-12345675 is a valid Lufthansa Cargo waybill number and 020-12345678 is not — a quick way to catch a mistyped waybill.
Why can’t I see the flight on the map?
The map is fed by the adsb.lol network of volunteer receivers, so coverage depends on receivers near the route. Flights over open water, on the ground before departure, or on airlines that do not broadcast ADS-B position will not appear.
